If you or anyone else is yearning for some great fishing or looking for some practice before your western trip. You ought to head south. The Farmington is on fire right now. Sulphers are winding down depending on where you fish. But Olives, caddis, Isonichia, March Browns, midges, some yellow drakes, cahills. Nymphing through dries its all working. Water temps from 50's to mid 60's way south. 60's near reservoir. Water levels remain good. For a lot of people the drive is shorter than going to the W. Branch and or GLS.
Now if you don't want some great fishing that is also fine by me. Leaves more room for me.

A couple fine examples shown on "farmingtonriver.com" river reports. The rainbow was a plant, but the brown the girl has is either a native or a many year holdover.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of something that is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.

Thanks for the heads up, Ron......

I’m heading out tomorrow morning at O Dark Thirty for Bozeman and a couple of days on the Paradise Valley Spring Creeks. Spent Spinners and #24 Cream Midges early, then PMD’s and Sulphurs before another round of Spent Spinners in the evenings. Three of us will be on DePuys.

Friday we head for Craig on the Missouri. The water is just coming down into wading levels. PMDs and Trikes early.......then Caddis in the evenings. We’ll be on the MO for a solid week........Hutch and friends will be there......perhaps we’ll run into each other on the river. Six of us Mainers will be there together.

A week of that......then on to the Big Horn for Yellow Sallies, Trikes, and Black Caddis. Water comes down this week into the wadeable/fishable range.
We’ll be back home by the end of July. It will be then Bass Bugging for me until Fall.
Ron.....the Farmington sounds good.....enjoy yourself.
