This is it; the last weekend of fishing under the general law. Thankfully, there are still plenty of places to wet a line next month. I figure this would be a good time to review the past season. Memorial Day Weekend at Kennebago with my Dad, brother and family friend; biggest trout I ever saw quietly taking emergers. Kennebec at Bingham in June with my old Little League buddy Dave; catching and releasing nice rainbows and landlocks while watching eagles soar above us. West Branch at Big Eddy in August with my wife; high water in the river forced us to Nesowadnehunk Stream in Baxter. Not many fish but the stunning surroundings are worth the trip. Overall; a very enjoyable summer. We are so lucky to fish in one of the most beautiful areas in the world; all in the great state of Maine. Onto bowhunting on Saturdays; catch and release on Sundays.
