Pike fishing today w/ Gussa...and except for the required motor failure, the fishing was excellent. 10 on, 7 in the boat- he beat me by 1.

Sub-

Hammer handles- 22" with 2 that were 24" or so. One was fatter than the others, but they ALL were pussies, and quit after the take until they were at the boat. They fun was watching the takes as the water was clear and we could see the fly as it was stripped...we had more miss this year than last, but they would come back on the next cast and kill it. One pike I though I had foul hooked as I could see my fly under his chin...He has chomped it so far it came out his gills. Had one bite though 20lb test floro...

Hope you are at the opener- I will be down on the 5th, but don't expect much. See you there I hope.

Hutch

Motor failure, and did you notice NO PADDLES in the boat. Not a good combo.
The adventures of fishing with Hutch.
The State just notified me that I MUST renew my Day Care licence
Shoooosh!

So true...I would mention one who does not have a boat should not abuse one who puts him in front for almost 2 hours (fishless)...to only be replaced by the boat owner for 2 minutes and ---Fish ON!! Typical.Oh- and those pike eat flies---tied by and ON by the boat owner!

But...yes, I did forget the paddle (2nd year in a row) and yes, my motor conked out. But it wasn't boring!

Oh first reports from GLS--- very poor. Parker took the collar as did -it seems- many others.

It is amazing when the guy who knows where the fish are can put the sport in the front of the boat in minutes. Too many of us have fished with The Guy, "we caught fish here when I was a here a bunch of years ago". I put him on "That" day......quickly! Period!
