I've been wanting to fish this particular little stream for years. Reading everything I could, spending hours looking at maps and satellite, and even conducting a mid summer scouting trip to record distances, routes, etc..

Well, it all came together Sunday when I took my father up in hopes of finding an elusive football Brook Trout in fall colors.

It was slow... very slow and frustrating until the sun came out at noon! My father caught a nice bright male on a streamer and that was it except for small salmon.

Then I switched back to my"go-to" confidence nymph rig and within 20 minutes I caught my personal best Brookie, second best Brookie, and a super fast bright clean 19" salmon (which I promptly dropped back in the river trying to get a photo).

My biggest Brookie was 17.5"... almost 18 ;-) and super fat! A real hog! I know pretty much everyone here catches monster trout regularly but i couldn't be more happy... even after falling down a hill, getting stuck in waist deep mud, tearing my waders, banging my knee on a rock, flogging the water fruitlessly for hours, and even losing the trail for a while!

Nicely done! That's what it's all about, putting in the work and reaping the rewards.
The pictures need to be sized properly, if they were taken with a cell phone you can download a photo resizer app and change the size to fit better.

Nice going Sub! And you still have 3 more weekends to go in the general season - Tight Lines!
