It's been a solid 4 years since I had ball catching busting schoolies. Last summer was a total bust--I didn't land a single striper. The two seasons before that I managed a fish or two, but worked hard to put them in the boat.

Today was my first attempt at stripers this year, and it was just like the old days. Dive bombing terns, busting fish, and all the 17-21 inch fish you could want. I suppose I should have gone looking for bigger fish after catching a few, but I was so happy to see the little schoolies again that I just kept chasing them until my arms got tired.

Next time I'm bringing the 6 weight.
