Happy New Year everyone. I hope your holidays were good. This year the conclave will be held in Rangeley, Maine on the weekend of June 25-27th. This is a weekend later then we normally have held the conclave so make note. The Rangeley Region Guides and Sportsman's Association will be hosting us on Saturday and we hope to have some other things going on that day along with the raffles and auctions.
We are going to try and reserve the group camping site at the Rangeley Lakes State Park and that will be the official campground for the conclave. Reservations don't open until February 10th and I'll keep you posted on how that goes. If we can't get the group site I'll let everyone know. I'm also not sure how many tents/people the group site holds but will try and find that out over the next few weeks.
Our fundraising efforts at the conclave will once again go towards our Grassroots Grant Program. If you know of any group that might be in need of a grant then have then contact our Conservation Coordinator Brian Foley. We hope to have some nice raffle/auction prizes this year and as always any donations or leads would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to drop me a pm or email. Also, if you have any ideas of events that you'd lioke to see on the Saturday at the RRGSA clubhouse please let us know.
Thanks
Ken

The group camping site at the Rangeley Lake State Park is all set for us. We will have the groups site near the water. It will hold between 40-50 people and then they have another overflow area that we will be able to use too. It'll be first come first serve. If you have a popup or any other type of camper then you'll need to make separate reservations as the goup sites are for tents only. The fee per person for the group site is $3/day per person and you will be responsible for that when you check in. All you have to do is tell them you are with FlyfishinginMaine.

Freaking elitists!
By the way, this may be the most sedate conclave yet. The rules for state parks include this humdinger.......
"Intoxicating beverages are not permitted. Disorderly conduct is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, indecent acts, intoxication or coarse language. "
How we getting around this one???

Ken;
As I participate in many different Fly Swaps....and (at least for the most part) fish any flies that I didn't tie I think donating them to this FFIM Fundraiser/Raffle just might be a good thing. They'll be in a new flybox....and I'm quite certain I can probably get a few out of my own vise to fill out the box. They'll be winging their way to you in the next few weeks (or do you want me to give them to Tim when we get together for a Tie & Lie?).

Dave,
Thanks so much and much appreciated. Save the postage and just give them to Tim.
Steve - let me know on the yak. That would be a great addition.
As far as the parks policies...we'll leave that up to every individual to manage!

Ken,
"Save the postage and just give them to Tim." That's giving the fox the key to the hen house.

Tark, Ken, Tim etc,
Will you be offering tickets for raffle prizes via the internet/paypal as you did last year. Would like to contribute and buy some tickets in advance as I'm not sure I will be able to make the event in person. (Baby due early July)
Thanks,
RC

WW (and anyone else)
Yes -- although Google seems to have put a temporary "hold" on our merchant account there -- working to get that fixed. In the meantime -- though we can't directly sell tix through paypal (california gambling law restriction apparently) -- you *could* paypal us a donation to FFIM - and I'll be sure to get you ticket numbers....
paypal account: paypal@flyfishinginmaine.org
Thanks!

So it looks like the google check out works for the boat raffle.
Are they any other pre-buy raffles like for the rod and reel combo?

I think this coincides with our annual vacation at Grant's Camps. If so, may a New Yorker join the festivities?
