I'm totally new to striper fishing and know little to nothing about it. I'm gonna throw my kayak in Penobscot in Brewer and try my luck. Using my 8 wt. and a clouser. My question is, should I fish the incoming tide, high tide, low tide, or does it really matter? For some reason I'm thinking I heard it was high tide was good as the incoming tide brings bait fish in but really can't remember for sure. Any info is appreciated.

I almost exclusively fish the falling tide. I have found that in most of the rivers I fish that I catch more on the outgoing then I do on the incoming. But that's just my experience and preference.

Good luck!!!!

Many thanks Red, appreciate the info. Hey what the hell, I'll try both! But I'll definitely start with the outgoing tide.
