I understand $500 for the stae of the art reel, $795 for a rod....but $280 for salt water pliers!!!
Hatch makes great stuff, but this boggles my pea-brain.

I understand "economies of scale" but this. Wow.

Wow, that sounds steep. Donmar make a real nice pair of pliers, that is bomb proof in the salt, but more importantly has great working action, and the company will clean and sharpen the cutters for a fair service fee. they go for about $150.00. Still super pricey, but they are bomb proof. I have had a pair for 11 years, and can't remember ever cleaning, maintaining them. they also fit nicely in the abel plier belt holder.
