Any of you salt guys having issues with Rio lines? I picked up an In touch Outbound Custom T-14 last spring, and its already falling apart. Cracks all over the shooting head and the coating is peeling off in big patches. I messaged Rio about it today, Second Rio Outbound line I've had issues with.... curious if it's just me or they just don't hold up.

I have heard of other folks having similar issues. I beat the crap out of my RIO line and they seem hold up very well...

Pete, I've had the same issue with full-sinking freshwater lines. Cracking and wear much sooner than I would expect. Too bad, because they cast very well.

My floating lines seem to hold up better, but the last couple seem to wear out faster than ones from a few years back.

Jeff,
I agree, I have several Rio floating lines that are 4 or 5 years old, with no issues. I did contact Rio and sent the line back for warranty... but they are backlogged for returns and have a 10-14 day turn around. I mailed the line on July 2nd and have yet to receive the replacement.

I'll keep everyone updated,

Peter

Update...

Came home from work today to a brand new line on my doorstep from Rio. Turn around was a little slow, 3.5 weeks, but they did warn me they were a little behind on processing warranty items. I mailed the defective line out without the original box and without a receipt, simply printed off a form and filled it out. Pretty happy with the outcome, just hoping this line holds up for more then a season and a half.
