Long weekend in Baxter. It feels about a month ahead up there. Almost zero snow until Medway. 3-5’ at elevation. Lots of open flowing water.

While driving around the midcoast hill country with my wife yesterday I noted most of the streams are down to late spring/early summer levels. There’s certainly not much for snowpack left either and the ice is going fast, but with the temps this past week- I expected more runoff. If the lack of water holds, prime spring fishing on moving water may happen early and be short lived. :?
