Fly tying
Wednesday's on February 5th

No experience necessary!

Beginners Tables (tools provided) and Experienced Tables

Fly tying sessions will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 pm from November through April for a nominal $5 fee to cover room rental and materials.

An experienced fly tyer will demonstrate two flies as you tie along and materials will be provided.

Come and enjoy an evening of fly tying and meet new friends.

On Wednesday February 5th the guest tyer will be Toby Levesque and we will be tying two streamers, the 88 and the Dark Spruce.

88

Hook: Size 6 - 12 (Mustad 79580, Daiichi 2220, Dairiki 700)
Thread: Black 6/0
Body: Rear two thirds, fine red brass wire, Front third fine green wire
(optional, wire coated in UV cured resin)
Wing: Lemon side wood duck
Thorax: Grizzly hackle

Dark Spruce

Hook: Size 2-12 (Mustad 79580, Daiichi 2220, Dairiki 700)
Thread: Black 6/0
Tail: Peacock sword feathers
Body: Red floss in back and peacock herl in front
Rib: Silver fine wire
Wing: Dark furnace hackles, curving out
Collar: Dark furnace hackle

The original was tied with badger hackle, and is called the Light Spruce
