The opening of Mr. Ed's Fly shop really is a horse of a different color (sorry, couldn't resist)

If one is under 50 you probably don’t get the replies above.

Drove by it this afternoon in the work truck, can't wait to stop stop in as its only 10 minutes from my house. It'll be nice to have a local shop around again. Hard to miss, he's got a big sign out front advertising free tying lessons.

That's awesome! I can almost walk there. I hope he gets enough community support to make a go of it.

Sweet! That means 10 mins from the camp too! Will check it out. Could def benefit from a little mid coast intel in return for some patronage

There's a lot of fly tiers in Maine that order stuff off the internet. Lets hope that everyone helps support a local fly shop. I know I love going to a local shop so I can see and feel the materials up front and for myself, not relying on someone else's thought of the quality of the materials.

I agree. Not just on the fly shop front. Retail is in tough shape. Just today driving through Bridgton looking at the empty store fronts and then those still in business, wondering who is going to shutter next.
Screw Amazon. Support your local retailer, most of whom actually pay taxes too. Keep it local!

Good luck Ed, it takes real courage to open a fly shop in this retail environment. If I can be of any help don't hesitate to call (273 4077) Terry Walsh
