Well, I finally made it into the town office and here are the available dates or a Tie and Lie

November 23rd and 24th are open (yep - next week)

and

November 30th and December 1st are open.

I'm going to be around both weekends so it's all the same to me. What about you?

My next couple of weekends are booked (deer hunting, putting the woodpile up at the new place, Thanksgiving travel, and a gathering at the new neighbors). Mid-December, January, and February are wide open (at the moment) though.

OK if I'm just starting? Or starting again? I may not tie that well but I can keep up with the other pretty good.

Everybody is welcome. I few of the guys/gals don’t even bring their vises......they just come to have breakfast with the famous ( infamous?) Kim, and socialize.

If you’re having ant tying problems you’ll have several hundred years of tying experience to help you out. All are welcome, and it’s always a great time.

Excellent. Thanks. If nothing else, I can put some faces to forum IDs.

Tomorrow morning I'll go down to the Town Office and reserve the Conference Room for December 1st. I'll confirm the date with them and post back here.

In the meantime here's a link to the most recent video at the Rotary Fly Tying website. A Tom Ames Jr. pattern called the SASH. https://www.rotaryflytying.com/programs/sashmp4-ce8251

I'm posting this here because I'm bringing my coffee blender and yarn to make the dubbing for this fly to the Tie-and-Lie. I'll have yarn enough so that anybody who wants to can make a batch of this dubbing. I use this dubbing for a number of different patterns and really like it. Jump to around the six and a half minute mark to see how the dubbing is made.

Mike,
Is that the dubbing mix you gave me years ago.

If it is nobody really needs to know how to make it.

It’s just the best all around mix I have ever used, even Chris likes it

Yep Parker - same stuff. And I've got yards and yards of the yarn.

And - consider it official we have the room for the first of December from two until ten.

Two until ten. That would make the drive from Ct worthwhile.
