On Saturday I headed up to my favorite trout stream in the NMW for my season closer - it was a good trip - no broken noses or flat tires... the weather was perfect and the stream was a bit low but it wasn't dire as in the past few seasons - aside from a good bunch of trout the only wild life I saw was 1 partridge - the roads were in good shape and there were more people on them than I've seen up there in a long time - as I mentioned earlier this season, the commercial operators are really taking a toll on this stream and it was even more evident at this end of the season...I almost went to another stream that would have afforded me absolute solitude but I've loved this one too much for too long to leave it and I didn't regret it - next weekend I 'll be heading to my favorite coastal stream to see if I can intercept some salters coming in - it ain't over yet! As the man said, "Autumn is the year's last, loveliest smile". Tight lines!

Very nice. Possible the traffic was due to the moose hunt(depending on location/zone) and bird season opener?
