For years I've used this USGS site to check waterflows.
https://waterdata.usgs.gov/me/nwis/current/?type=flow

and it does give me close to real-time data on river levels.

More and more I find myself checking the Brookfield Power site for river flow information. Mainly because it tells you what the flow is EXPECTED to be for any given day. I check what they say they are going to flow and then I check the USGS site to see if they are flowing what they say is planned.

You still have to wonder if the flow is going to change for one reason or another but you can get scheduled flow information for a lot of water at

https://www.safewaters.com/home

ps - once you go through the selection process and find the river information you want you can bookmark it so you don't have to repeat the selection process every time you want to check a particular river's flow.
pss - 8:30 last night the water at Shawmut was 63-degrees - no hatches - no fish

63 degrees already? I don't feel like we've had many days over 63 degrees this spring... it's been a slow burn into summer.
