Well it's that time of the year again. Ice went out at Grace Pond today. Parlin pond will be out by the first of the week. Lots of snow in the woods still. Drift so big in the camp yard I couldn't drive all the way in. 23 degrees on Thursday morning. Wood stove going. Have seen moose , deer, partridge. Friends out looking for moose antler sheds have gotten stuck in the drifts on the back roads. Rivers are raging. Typical spring.

Was in Millinocket today on non-fishing business. Stopped in to see Barry Davis at Two Rivers Canoe, who reported that Chamberlain went out Wed or Thursday, Moosehead is out, and Pemadumcook is going out. (Mike, looks like you can boat to camp for the 15th, but from Hatch's Enchanted report you might want to wait on the more remote roads.)

Looking to get out on the ponds...
Co Worker opened his camp in Jackman this past weekend, ice is out on Big Wood and Moose River is cranking. He says many small ponds also open, I will be headed up soon

Kennebecfly, Unless something really strange happens I suspect all the ponds in the Jackman / Forks area will be ice free at this time.
