No......not as “ in a line”, but straight, as in knowing which line you have on what reel.

In the old days when I only had one trout reel and one Striper reel, it was pretty easy and straight forward to know which was which.

As my reel supply has grown, its become somewhat of a problem knowing what line is on which reel if you have five four weight reels and three five weight reels......?and all eight of them are 4/5/6 rated reels.

I finally resorted to the Lefty Kreh system. I take a black indelible Sharpie and put a 1/4 inch black line for each weight of line ( e.g. 4. Lines for a four weight line)

Lefty used a one inch mark for five weights.......and one small line before the larger one for a four.......and one small one after the inch line for a six....BUT I like just using the precise number of lines per weight. It just works for me.

Some of the new lines are already marked with the style and weight, but many still aren’t. If yours aren’t, this system works pretty well.

I also have a micrometer that I use to check the blind splice coming out of the line.......so if it mics out at .021 I know it’s either a five of six........if it mics out at .019 I know it’s a four, but the line marks is much faster.

I use a p-touch label on inside of reel. Mark as wf4, etc. Have not had one come off (yet)
