What stonefly species can I expect at the West Branch? I assume goldens will be the most prevalent? What are some others? Opinions on most prevalent?

Do they make a triple tung in golden?

We see Stoneflies pretty much all season long. The early ones are small black or winter stones, they are usually about 1/2 inch long. As the season goes on the size increases and we will see stones from 1/2 inch up to 2 inches. The big Golden Stones start to show in late June. As has been said many time the river holds and incredible amount of stonefly nymphs and most fish caught will be on nymph patterns. I tie a variety of sizes in mostly black but anything in Yellow/Gold will work as well. The Golden Retriever is a popular pattern also.
