I had one of my Hardy Reels spend about 2 months underwater in Big Eddy. Looked pretty tough when first recovered. But a little spit and polish got things working again. These Hardys are pretty much bullet proof. Now the Sage it was attached to is the next project.

Al,
That is looking pretty good. It looks a lot like the old Pflueger internals on that Hardy.
When I was 20 yrs old, I pulled an old fly rod and reel out of Telos along the shore. It had a fiberglass bottom and an aluminum tip!
It had an old Hi Standard reel that I still have! I don't know how long it had been there.

Glad there wasn’t a fisherman still holding onto it.

Gotta say Al.....that’s a very impressive clean up job you did there. One of the things, among many, that I love about Hardy reels is their simplicity. Very little can go wrong with them.
