Not much fishing this year, but when I got out it was always fun. On my first day off in about seven weeks (from working on boats) I went and got on another boat :? This time I didn't have to be in charge or think about anything other than casting. We started off with snow and ice in the guides, but the wind was light and we were dressed for it. Fishing was not fast, but by the end of the day I had 7 fish to the boat and missed at least that many. All the fish were fat and healthy. With the exception of one, they were all over 20" and the big one went (measured) 23.5". My biggest salmon ever. Water was low and we had a chance to look at all the beds and did not find any fish on them yet.

Great looking salmon. I’m in the last photo in front of trestle pier. It was a nice day there. No salmon but 5 respectable brook trout.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of something that is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.
