I just ordered a Redington Two-handed rod and lines. I'm now in the market for a reel and looking for help.
The rod is a 11ft. 6 weight, and weighs 4.7 oz. Floating line is a 400 gr., the sinking tip is a 475 gr..
The easy choice would be the Orvis Battenkill V, but the "noisey reels" are not my usual choice. Money is somewhat an issue, but I don't want junk.
Looking for some guidance.
Thanks,
Loop

Try a Hydros reel. You might be able to ogle one at the Orvis store in Kittery.

If you are looking for great value consider the Echo Ion http://echoflyfishing.com/reels/ . I have had one for the past four years for my 6 wt switch rod and the drag system had no issues handling Great Lakes Steelhead, Kings and Browns. Really impressed by the Echo products, very functional tools.
