Headed up north Friday to fish a few rivers. I caught a beautiful hen salmon Friday night that made the whole weekend, I might add the only fish I caught. But it was a great weekend to be out in the woods. I fished about an hour north of my camp, so I stayed in the back of my pickup (Hotel Silverado) to get more time on the water. So here's a few observations from the weekend.

At 64 years old getting in and out of the back of a pickup would be funny to watch.

An orange juice bottle makes a great urinal at 3 in the morning

I didn't think that mosquitos would be in the picture.

Competing with river space with kids swimming never entered me mind on the ride up.

My $20 Igloo cooler kept the beer cold all weekend. I put a 1/2 gallon frozen milk bottle in and a bag of ice over everything worked great.

I talked to a young man on a river and come to find out I drank beer with his father 30 years ago in downtown Rangeley at Doc's. Great kid.

Didn't need alot of fish to make a great weekend.

Can't wait till next weekend.

Hotel Silverados are all over the place. It was a good weekend to be out there.

Bill, Glad to hear you made the most of it - I'd say those are some pretty universal observations - it's amazing how a single fish can make a weekend...or even a single fish that you may not have even landed..."urinal", that's a lot more elegant than the term I use...Tight Lines!
