The date is August 25th. The place: The Andro in Bethel or thereabouts. Grab your canoe and come fish for the day. Cookout afterwards. Even if you don't know Don you should come as it's your chance to meet the legend. He is revered from Stockbridge to Boston, oops I mean Kittery to Fort Kent.

In all seriousness, come join us for a fun day of floating, coyote stories and maybe some beer.

Ken

It truly saddens me that I won't be able to make this event - I don't usually post excuses but I'll be on a river about 1000 miles north of where you guys will be...have a great time, be safe & tight lines!

I’ll be curious to hear about the conditions you find, Brian. My understanding is that it was still pretty much winter the third week of June.

Be safe Brian. A coworker had to scratch plans for the Eagle the week before last as ‘spring runoff’ was still well back into the trees. From what I hear- most of the rivers are at flood stage around Labrador.

go for it Brian, can't wait for the story, it may be small potatoes compared to floating down the Andro with me but we'll see. I just got done filling two boxes with super secret flies, and anyone caught snooping around said bxs will lose their FFIM security clearance for at least 10 minutes. all the luck in the world to you Brian, we're rooting for you big time

Like Don - I look forward to the tales Brian! Don - did I mention that the cost of the room for the weekend is one of those 2 boxes?!? The 'yotes were howling Saturday AM - they heard you're coming - they sounded nervous.

If mowing my lawn was any indication - brings plenty of hoppers!

We went, we saw, we drank, we fished, we conquered and we survived.... and it was just an awesome time with a great crew. Thanks Craig for hosting, Ken for coordinating, and everyone for joining and bringing the boats.

It was a beautiful day, great drift, good food and beer, and fun all around. Don kept us all entertained, and invoked the chub gods, to make sure that we all got a few fish on the board, when even the bass proved challenging. See you all next year for the 2nd annual!

And yes... one of us did get the American made Viagra truck out of the mud, only because the owner allowed Peter to handle the dirty work, and Ken to pull it out with a foreign designed, smaller truck. Another slice of humble pie.... :)

Small part my @$$ - you are the heart and soul! Such a great day - thanks for coming everyone! You were damn near asleep at on the deck - until the 'yotes started to howl - then you were on point faster than Hunters dogs!

The float was a lot of fun. I can’t remember the last time I saw a hatch in Maine as prolific as the one we were fortunate enough to drift through. Albeit warm-water, ‘coarse’ fish, the fishing was outstanding. The creek chubs we’re even snooty about fly selection at times. Looking forward to next time!

Edited to add- while i thought we'd be somewhat crowded with this number of boats fishing as a "group", for the most part- we all spread out and found our own water. In fact- we ended up having to radio ahead and have someone send a pin drop of where the first boat was. We could have easily had double the number of boats on this trip without tripping over each other. Something to think about as we plan for next year.
