Baxter Park area and north is your best bet but next weekend is getting late.

Considering the weather we had last week, I'd check out the salt or chase bass before I harassed trout in +70 degree water. But if you must, bring night vision goggles.

Saw a few last night on a cold, deep lake in Western Maine after the cold front came through on Friday. Surface temps were still at 68 degrees.

Saw only a single one on the same lake last weekend, so I think they are still coming, not past, but agree with Ausable Wulff about the water temps. I wouldn't have fished if the surface temp was over 70--and I suspect it would have been tonight. Friday night the temp dropped below 50 where I was, and Saturday's high never got above 70. It was low 80's today and predicted warmer most of the week.

I am hearing reports of bass on hexes in Central Maine lakes . . . . .

I must say that the amount of hex on Sebago is unbelievable. Precisely on the 4th they started popping. What I assume are Salmon were on them, even the next next morning. Shucks are still present so I think they are still coming off. I suspect a man with some time could target fish on these here.

Walked into the Rangeley Fly shop yesterday around noon. The screen door on the shop was covered with perhaps 50 Hex mayflies. They are happening still.
