April 21 in Ellsworth. The BDN spin in a little misleading as the the key thing happening is not a presentation, but (1) recruiting volunteers for the Coastal Stream Survey Project to look for salter brook trout in the area east of the Penobscot; and (2) (Hopefully) to get an active TU group in the area.

11 am, Pats Pizza, Ellsworth.

Its unfortunate that this conflicts with the DSF Smelt Fry, but you could get to both if you want!

Good stuff Jeff,I have volunteered in the Coastal Stream Survey in the past. Years ago I did not do much at all for fishing in during the early season/runoff now the Salter brook trout has become kind of a obsession. Spending lots of time pouring over my maps with a magnifying glass at the tiny blue lines.
Some days covering a lot of ground, fishing and exploring.
Next week I am planning heading a little further Down East, finding a place to throw up my tent for the night, check a few more off my list. Its something I have wanted to do for a few years now but never have the time.

Thanks, Kennebecfly. I know you like to travel, but just to note that we do still have a number of waters close to home for you. (Hey, you've got to fish before and after work as well as on your days off, right?)

Fifteen Mile Stream and tribs. Togus Stream and tribs. Tribs to the West Branch Sheepscot. And more. At least take a crack at the Marsh Stream waters on your way east!

The full list is here: http://tumaine.org/images/docs/2018StreamList.pdf

And full info on the project here: http://tumaine.org/coastalstreamsurvey.htm
