There are good fish to be had there, both trout and salmon. In my experience, it's a spot that rewards local knowledge, and mine is limited and mostly not self-obtained.
By late June, water will probably be warming, fishing will be mostly morning and evening, and finding sources of cold water coming into the river will be important to finding fish, especially brook trout. The salmon are more temperature tolerant and likely to be active mid day. Don't neglect Baxter State Park. If you are willing to make the walk out in the dark, a night on one of the ponds in the park with canoes for brook trout on evening mayflies might be worthwhile.
