Always take a change of clothes fishing. Always.Taking a swim in June isn't bad. Today not so much...
Had an audience too.

Brrrrrrr.... it’ll likely take the pills a little while to find their normal latitude. Better to have an audience this time of year. In addition to the cloths, a little fire starter is a good thing too.

Brrrr.
Happened to me several years ago, trying to net a February-hooked rainbow in a nh river with air temps in the teens. Fell completely underwater. Fortunately my truck was nearby and I was warm within minutes, after releasing the fish of course.
Hit a notoriously slippery Maine river last Wednesday and kept telling myself, every few minutes,
"Don't drown. Don't break your rod."
Neither happened, and I caught some nice fish. But the consequences of winter fishing falls are much more severe. Stay safe.
