This morning I was hoping to catch a spinner fall. I was on the Farmington and normally work Saturday nights and miss dawn on the river. Due to cancelled work I fished a great epheron hatch last night, mixed in with some caddis, an occasional stonefly and copious numbers of Isonychia.
I didn't get the spinner fall I was looking for. Temps at dawn were 47*, but that is helping lower the water temps as they were 57* this AM even though last week the air temps were in the mid to upper 80's and low 90's.
I did get these pictures

Keeps surprising me how well cell phones take pictures these days.

Dave M. Your retired now, you need to try it.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of something that is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.

My all time favorite mayfly hatch.

Hendricksons in the Spring are really nice.....as they're (usually) the first major hatch I get to fish, and large Olves last longer, but Trikes are the best.

In the West they last six weeks give/take. The water is (usually) down so we can work our way around to get the best drifts. I freaking love Trico's.
