Too bad these were 50 miles to the south and 14 hours off of my fishing time. These flying ants were swarming all over the top of a propane tank safety cage at work. A size 24-26 black flying ant pattern would probably be the ticket.

I agree, but I have been successful using them nevertheless. Trout and salmon seem to love the buggers.
