Doing a weekend of family camping in NH in a few weeks, at Tarry Ho Campground in Twin Mountains. We're staying on the Ammonnsuc so I HAVE to wet a line. Not looking to burn any secret spots, but any general advise would be appreciated......

Many moons ago, i did well behind the church, right on the river in Twin Mountain. Not a secret spot at all... in fact it is right next to the busiest intersection in Twin Mountain, but it worked for stockers. It is a pretty little stream, i would just drive out of the town and give it a go.

Thanks TGIF. I was hoping to find a spot within walking distance of the campground, since my only free time will be before quiet time in the campground.... don't want to start my old truck at 4am in the campground!!!

I LOVE that river...I'll be there myself mid August providing the water temps are still down. I've done well in every piece I've ever fished. Big bushy dries are all I use there, with the very occasional wet or dropper. Lots of wild bkt and some decent bows near RT 302 in past years.

I bet your neighbors on quimbey wish you didn't fire up ur truck at 4am either :). The stretch on 302 is really pretty for sure, but that will be a drive for you. You can take the kids over to fish on echo lake at the base of cannon... get their early and you will see bears grazing on the ski slopes.
