this isn't quite what I was hoping for...
Yesterday I headed way Downeast again, in spite of the weather reports - when I arrived at my first stream I was once again greeted by hollering ospreys and eagles but I later found out it was because the alewife run had begun - I used all my best tactics on my most reliable streams - I found a good amount of clear, fishable water but all I was able to land was 3 alewives on the first stream I fished - the fish had a whole lot more water to hide in, but I think they were just hanging low because of the high water - I paddled the last stream I visited and found a good number of mayflies on the water, but even more notable was the "spider hatch" - there were more spiders on the water than I have ever noticed before - the fish didn't seem interested in any of the bugs though - another interesting thing I found at that stream was a Toy Story zip-lock bag with $7 cash and a young lady's fishing licence in it...late in the day I noticed my vegy oil fuel gauge dropping faster than usual - I pulled over, opened my hood and discovered a serious fuel hose leak that had drenched my truck in vegetable oil - dealing with that in the pouring rain made it very pleasant to arrive at camp last nite and belly up to the wood stove with a good beer...or ten...next Saturday is gonna be great! Tight Lines!

Yes it is, Courtney - unfortunately, I lost it later in the day...
