They always showed up at my feeders in Lewiston on Mothers Day weekend.....usually between May 10th and May 12th.

I had no idea when I'd get them here in Ellsworth, so I put my feeders out May 3rd. The first male showed up at dinner time today.....May 7th.

I always know Spring is really here when two things happen: The azelas bloom; and the first Hummers show up.

Ok...so Spring really has sprung. Now let's get the damned rivers down to wadeable levels.

Dave I got my first one in Bowdoin a week ago. He gassed up and kept on going. I have my first permanent resident as of yesterday. He sits on his favorite branch and is waiting for the females to get here. Nature has delivered another Spring we just need to get out and enjoy it.

AAAH...the first delights of spring, haven't had any hummers yet, but I've had Cardinals, Bluebirds as well as all the usual spring visitors, I'm really trying to attract Baltimore Orioles to hang around, we just get fleeting glimpses. Terry

Our first Hummer showed yesterday, we have two pairs of blue birds in the boxes closest to the house and the Orioles have been hitting the oranges and jelly throughout the bad weather.

Dave M, when you moved did you leave a forwarding address at your old feeder locations?

Ron......

Actually I asked my next door neighbor to keep filling those feeders. I really did feel guilty.
