This is a well known Irish wet fly pattern, the duckfly is a midge hatch in May
that brings anglers from all over Europe to the irish loughs. I've tied this fly
in my class and a lot of guys got fish on it. Terry

Sorry for my long absence, I've been busy aging, distracted and absentminded. Here is an interesting Caddis pattern, the wing is made from Web Wing but I also make them using feathers. The shape is achieved using a metal tweezer type wing burner, you can find them on the web. Being a metal worker, I made this one myself, the bought ones are a little crude. The dubbing is also interesting, it is a mixture of finely clipped deer hair and hares ear dubbing. I'm posting a picture of the fly alone for more detail. I hope you like it
