Finally finished a nodeless Garrison 209 taper 7'6" 5 wt 2pc bamboo rod I started on January 4th. About 175 hours of work. Now I need to find a good reel for it. Thoughts and suggestions.

Lane......

Short of putting a Bogdan on that puppy........IMO the classic reel to put on it (her??) would be an Alnwick Hardy LRH. Doesn't get any more classic than that.

Nice work Lane! 175 hours.... WOW, I'm about 45 hours into my Payne 102... with nodes. I'm guessing about another 35 to 40 for until it's finished. I'm actually 2nd planing the two tip sections tomorrow. It will be the first tapered plan, and those tips are already small! We will have to take them out and fish them this spring when I finish, I'm hoping for early May.

A nice Bamboo rod deserves a Hardy. I love the Princess.

Another vote for a Hardy. However, since boo is heavier material, I would think about matching it with a Perfect.

Fine/special bamboo also deserves a silk line. You may think they are way expensive. Buy one and take care of it and it'll last you a lifetime.
