cap, your last post has plenty of wisdom in it.

However, in my humble opinion, the guy is still pretending to fish because he lacks the most needed element -- the hook. Anything beyond that, and again, this is my humble opinion, is splitting semantic hairs. I shall not touch upon this again, though. You have yours and I mine.

I had read the Howard Walden article many years ago that Reed has on his web site. Also, one of my favorite fishing short stories of all time is Walden's "When All the World Is Young." It's a teeny bopper love story that takes place at the beginning of the 20th century. It begins, "The road to school took him past the things he loved to the things he hated." This is a long short story and is in Nick Lyon's anthology, Fisherman's Bounty.

I am a catch-and-release angler but do occasionally kill one for the table --just to keep my hand it.

Was this issue raised because of the awesomeness of the 1st annual Don Lynch ‘Master of the Chub’ flotilla held last summer? If so- wait until year 2, sponsored by the Speckled Axe.

"And BTW you guys are old! " We like to refer to it as matured.

I prefer "aged", like fine wine or cheese. In my case - definitely cheese...
